United Breaks Guitars

Forgive me for this one country song.

Ninth! Ps2. Is there a pattern here..

June 30th, 2009

I have found that younger gamers are much harder on systems. Duh! Ps2 number seven has been repaired twice for bad power jack. I just went in and replaced the failing laser with a 7 dollar one from DealExtreme. It worked quite well. In fact I grabbed another used PS2 (number 8) that has the same failing laser problem to keep as a backup for the main ps2.

Ever since the original Playstation was released in white, I have wanted something other than black. To avoid battles over whether I get to play games or just give up to the children I purchased number Nine. It was silver and the picture on the box looked promising. Silver is closer to white.

The price went down, along with the build quality. The plastic is cheaper feeling, none of the cool ribs are built in, and the finish is like a silver krylon spray can job in someone’s greasy garage. It is hard to depress the power button since it is flush with the case material.

After all this hoonanny a pristine PS3 showed up on Craig’slist that was backwards compatible, and in the price range I would be willing to pay! So here are the current stats for my allegiance to Sony:

  • PS1 = 3

  • Pocketstation = 1

  • PS2 = 9 (I only paid for 6)

  • PS3 = 1

Full Bearded Display

May 11th, 2009

“No-Name” is my work mascot. He is an almost one year old bearded dragon that has grown up at my job. The teammates all enjoy him, especially watching the crickets get devoured at feeding time. The question comes up from visitors, “How do you know he is happy in his cage?” So I took a picture of what he looks like when he is not too happy. This is his full display:

No-name the bearded dragon showing his full beard.

Beardies are awesome because you can tell just by looking at them what their mood is. They should be named mood-ring dragons.

Happy Mother’s Day!

May 11th, 2009

We got an interesting surprise on Mother’s Day! The question is this: Is “Fire” the snake a mother on Mother’s day, or when the eggs hatch?

Fire is almost a mother! We will know in about 50 days if she is.

As a bonus, we now know the gender of our two smaller snakes.

They found Leviathan

April 30th, 2009

Evidence of larger sea creatures that more accurately match the Bible’s description (Job 41) of Leviathan. Now you should feel bad for making fun of the olde-worlde map makers who knew these creatures were out there!

New evidence that Dinosaurs are nowhere near as old as evolution keeps clinging to.

And a cute little snake.

God knows how to fix the economy.

Please comment and add more scriptures or bible verses relating to the economy as you find them!

NEW: Ecc 5:11 As goods increase, so do those who consume them.

Proverb 1:13-14 We will get all sorts of valuable things and fill our houses with plunder; throw in your lot with us, and we will share a common purse”-

Proverbs 13:11 Dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow.
Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

Jeremiah 17:11 Like a partridge that hatches eggs it did not lay is the man who gains riches by unjust means. When his life is half gone, they will desert him, and in the end he will prove to be a fool.

Obama vs. Bush

April 5th, 2009

Bush is bad because he made a bailout.  Obama is good because of multiple bailouts.

Bush is bad for making an economic stimulus package.  Obama is good for making an economic stimulus package.

Bush is bad because he favored the tax burden toward high income taxpayers. Obama is good for burdening the higher bracket tax payers.

Bush is bad because he invaded Iraq.  Obama is good because he invaded Afghanistan.

Bush was a fool for making culture blunders with foreign dignitaries.  Obama is cool for making culture blunders with foreign dignitaries.

Bush was bad for expanding the federal budget by 700 billion.  Obama is good for expanding it another 1 trillion.

Bush is bad for a Medicare drug entitlement that costs an estimated 800 billion. Obama is good for a 634 billion down payment on a new government health care fund.

Bush is bad for increasing federal education spending 58 percent faster than inflation. Obama is good for doubling it.

Anyone else see a problem with this?

The law has become an instrument of injustice.

February 10th, 2009

“It is impossible to introduce into society a greater change and a greater evil than this: the conversion of the law into an instrument of plunder.”
